Welcome to the Dalmatian Station!

Here is my website where I document my growing collection of dalmatian memorabilia. Currently, my collection has 150 items in it. My collection first stemmed from a small collection of 101 Dalmatians plushes and Webkinz dalmatians, beginning an unintentional pack of dals that stood out amongst my other plushes with their striking white fur. I started picking up dalmatians whenever I saw them to add into my pack, and eventually I just started to read about dalmatians and decided they're actually the coolest dog ever and that I needed about a million of them.

Dalmatians originate from Croatia, specfically from an area once known as Dalmatia. Dalmatians were breed as hunting dogs and famously get along very well with horses. They were popolarized as carriage dogs, meaning they accompined their charges along the streets, running alongside their equine companions. Their distinct spotted coats were favored amongst the wealthy, espesically in the US and UK. Since they were so good with horses, they were often employed by firestations that used the dogs to protect the horses that once pulled the firebarrage. Since these horses were high-value, they could be unhooked from the carriage and stolen while the firemen were distracted; dalmatians were the ideal breed since not only could they keep up with the horses, but they were defensive and protective of them from potentional thieves. Dalmatians remain the mascot of many firestations to this day, even after the horse-drawn carriages were retired. Dalmatians, most importantly, are silly little guys. The dalmatians I've met in real life were energetic, friendly, and intelligence; the ultimate edition to this collection will one day be a real dalmatian (although that wld kinda be a horror movie scenario to enter a new home and find it full of replicas of yourself). For now please feast your eyes upon the gorgeous beasts of my abode. Enjoy!

BA-01-23: Biggo

8" plush dalmatian in laying position with oversized head and nose, droopy eyelids, and red pleather collar with silver buckle, "The Dog" button on right haunch. Small body and ears. Produced by Artlist International, a line released after the success of "The Dog" artlist collection in Japan, which featured photos of dogs shot with a fisheye lense. There are 4 different sizes of The Dog, from 4" to 14" (I have 8") and a McDonalds toy line as well. Theres also calenders, books, and even a Nintendo game based off of this photography series. Aiden got me the silliest dalmatians ebay could find for my 21st birthday. Related: Biggy (currently unlinked)

Acquired: 7/18/23, gift from Aiden, ebay | Price: $18 | Producer: Artlist International | Production Date: 2002-2003 | Missing Info: materials, advertisement, poster (I had it but the page i linked to was deleted)

BC-03-23: Biggy

8" plush dalmatian in laying position with an oversized head and small body. Plastic brown eyes and large rubbery nose, embroidered toes, spots are all in neat lines, black right ear. Wearing a large Christmas hat with green and red checker design. Yellow button on right haunch with "BIG" logo. Produced by Commonwealth Toys in 2003, a knock-off of the popular "The Dog" series that was trendy at the time (2002-2003), plushes of dogs based off of photos from fish-eye lenses. Commonwealth toys briefly had the "Head First" or "BIG Head First" line that seems to have only produced a few different dog breeds. Mine has a hat. Not sure whats up with that; I didn't find any other adorned "Head First" dogs. Possibly a 'seasonal' line that didn't pick up, considering that 'Head First' only lasted a year. Aiden got me Biggy, Biggo, and Flash for my 21st birthday.

Acquired: 7/18/23, gift from Aiden, ebay | Price: $10-12 | Producer: Commonwealth Toys | Production Date: 2003 | Missing Info: Seasonal line. I must find out if there are other dogs with hats

BZ-01-23: Bingo

12" round dalmatian plush with embroidered facial features, sparkly eyes with eyelashes, one black and one white ear with sparkly pink insides. "Coco Squishies: Bingo the Dalmatian" is the official product name, produced by Zuru. Coco Squishies are just a circular verison of Squishmallows, this particular product was released in July 2020, around the height of Squishmallow's popularity. Squishmallow copies are an easy cashgrab because the symbilistic nature of Squishmallow designs are easy and cheap to pull off and produce. 'Coco Squishies' in particular are marketed to young girls and are given additional 'girly' features like eyelashes, sparkles, and more cutesy expressions (smiling like :P).

Brooke gave her to me during the First Watch Christmas party. She told me she had to hide it from her son, Elliot, since he would try to take her. Luckily Bingo made it to me safely. and without any crayon stains.

Acquired: 12/20/2023 | Price: $11 | Producer: Zuru, Coco Squishies | Production Date: 6/30/2020-current | Missing Info: advertisement / og page are still up, i want to get a screenshot and product description when i remember.

BD-01-23: Bank

7" plastic Disney dalmatian coin bank. Unspecificed puppy in a sitting poisition with fur texture, panting, red collar with brown eyes and black ears. Missing coin stopper. It's pretty unlikely that it's based off of a certain puppy: if it isn't one of the handful of popular pups then it's no one. Produced by Applause somewhere between 1968-1990; Applause was, at the time, the main producer of Disney's toy and plush lines, and I can only narrow this pup down to somewhere between the release of the original 101 Dalmatians and the release of the live-action 101 Dalmatians, in which there was an uptick of 101 Dalmatians merch released by Disney.

I found BD-01-23 at an antique store in South Carolina. There was also a collection of decorative dalmatian plates that I was certain I would destroy on the 23hr bus ride back home. BD-01-23 was in good condition for a plastic figure that could be 30-40 years old; he had some chips in paint and some yellowing; I repainted the black spots but as of right now I don't know how to fix the yellowing. I washed him off when I first got him which didn't have an effect, but I'm sure there's some kind of product designed for old dalmatian coinbanks specfically. Also he's a boy because his collar is red. AMAC. Assigned Male at Collar. which happens to a lot of boys. Some listings call it "Lucky" due to the two black ears but he doesn't have the horseshoe marking on the back.

Acquired: August 2023, Antique Store, SC | Price: $10-20 (I forgot) | Producer: Applause, Disney | Production Date: 1986-1990 | Missing Info: exact production date, cleaning materials

BT-01-23: Beau

6" beanie boos plush dalmatian, white with pink heart-shaped spots and right eye spot, glittery pink plastic nose and eyes, embroidered mouth. Beau is a Valentines seasonal Beanie Boo. His birthday is Feburary 10th, and his poem is as follows: "I'll hold my breath 'til I turn blue / Until I get to go with you / I'll tell you a big secret too / About something you never knew." There is lots of informatin on Beanie Boos and Beanie Babies which makes sourcing beaniematians incredibly easy.

Acquired: Feb 2023 (forgot), Randals | Price: $6 | Producer: TY | Production Date: Feb 2023 | Missing Info: product description, releaese photos

BH-01-23

Acquired: December 2023, Randalls | Price: $15 | Producer: Hugfun | Production Date: 2023 | Missing Info: Hugfun info, materials, line

CC-01-23: Cuddles

6" plush dalmatian in a laying position, Pound Puppies knock-off. Cartoony plastic eyes and nose, legs splayed out with a tube-shaped body. Spots are airbrush with a bleed around them. Pound Puppies were popular in the 1990s and spawned lots of knock-offs: Cuddle Puppies were probably released around the same time but I don't actually have a source for any of this. I purchased CC-01-23 in a group with a bunch of licensed Disneymatian products: I have yet to find an individual listing for a Cuddle Puppy anywhere, so I don't really have any information about them or their price or release date or anything. Honestly, looks fairly close to a Pound Puddle and isn't bad quality aside from the poor airbrushing. Def could trick someone who doesn't know much about Pound Puppies.

Acquired: 4/30/23, ebay | Price: probably like $5 on its own but I purchased them in a group for $150 | Producer: Cuddle Puppy, parent company unknown | Production Date: circa 1990s, probably | Missing Info: materials, parent company, production date, line, everything.

CR-01-20: Conductor

Little Tikes Rescue Tales Adoptable Pets -Dalmatian: "9 interactive plush dalmatian. Large blue eyes with a wipeable tear, fur on top of head, braided blue collar with a star-shaped tag, "RT" logo on haunch. When activated, it wags tail, shakes head, pants, licks, and barks. Touch and time activiated. Conductor is apart of a rebrand of a defunct toy line called Rescue Pets, rebranded now as Rescue Tales. Rescue Pets, released in the 2000s, was a competitor to Webkinz; they featured pets with scannable codes that unlocked an online avatar on the Rescue Pets website. The website was basically webkinz, with an arcade, room decor, and pet clothing. The franchise didn't last long and was discontiuned. Rescue Tales was then revived in 2020, instead focusing on an "interactive" element with touch-activated responses from the pet, as well as accessories for the pet, sold seperately. Pets come in a doghouse-shaped box and are marketed to young children, encouraging them to rescue the pet from the animal shelter. It works. I rescued him.

Me and Tegan got Conductor at Target when I was first starting to actively collect dalmatians. We didn't know that Rescue Pets/Tales were back, since we played it when we were younger so it was really cute and exciting to regonize their distinct devastated expression. I remember that we couldn't turn him off until we got home and he is VERY motion sensitive and spent the entire shopping trip barking and whining inside its box. Ocelot ended up naming him because we were watching a documentery about trains while he sat on our desk.

Acquired: 7/28/20 | Price: $23.88 | Producer: Little Tikes, Rescue Tales | Production Date: 2020 | Missing Info: Product description, advertisement

CM-01-23: Chiquia

10" handsewn dalmatia plush. White felt base with black felt spots sewn on with individual whisker spots and a black smile. Big ol' ears. Pink underbelly. Black eyes. 17 spots on right side, 20 spots on left side. Bought from a street vendor in (wherever she went), Mexico. I can't remember why I named her Chiquia but its a Spanish name that means "small". Lori got her for me

Acquired: August 2023 | Producer: Handcrafter | Production Date: 2023 | Missing Info: artist, price

CT-01-23: Catcher

8" Beanie Baby plush dalmatian in sitting position, standard Beanie Baby eyes (blue), plastic nose, right black ear and tail. Birthday is March 16th, poem is "At playing tag I can't be beat / and when I win I'll want a treat!" There's a seasonal variation; Beau (link) and they sit next to each other.

Acquired: 2022-23 i honestly forgot | Price: $7 | Producer: TY | Production Date: 2019 | Missing Info: I should try to figure out when i bought it im sure i made a note or smth

CW-01-20: Cherrybomb

11" Webkinz pink dalmatian. Slightly larger then the dalmatian, pink ears and spots, black plastic eyes, embroidered pink nose, Webkinz 'W' on right hind paw. Three spots on her face. She was one of the originals of the dalmatian collection; Tegan originally owned her but gave her to me to put on the dalmatian shelf; we bought a group of webkinz dogs when we were getting back into webkinz in 2020. I am not sure if she intended for me to keep her but she showed up in the moving boxes so she's mine forever now. Sometimes she wears a little jean jacket. Her code is probably on Tegan's webkinz account. I switch between calling her Cherry Soda and Cherrybomb but I think Cherrybomb is gonna be offical. I also can't remember if Tegan got her for me or if I bought her myself but it feels nicer to think that Tegan got her for me. She is in very good condition and stuffed more then the average Kinz.

Acquired: 2020 | Price: $60 in group of ten. Original price was $11. They're listed on ebay between $12-40. | Producer: Webkinz, Ganz | Production Date: May 2012-2015 | Missing Info: i should include her ingame stuff

DB-01-20: Diggs

8" dalmatian plush in sitting position, plastic nose and eyes with brown shading around nose and mouth, airbrushed mouth, whiskers spots, and spots. Wearing a blue bead necklace and earrings with green buttons that I made. Produced by Bearington, which makes realistic stuffed animals. Nanabell got him for me in Christmas 2020, when I was first started to collect dalmatians.

Acquired: 12/25/23 | Price: $26 | Producer: Bearington | Production Date: 2020-current | Missing Info: materials, product description, productor information

DB-02-24: Drowzy 🐾

23" realistic Dalmatian plush in a laying position. She has a foam insert in her head and thick stuffing to maintain her pose, front legs extended while haunches are bent in a relaxed position, airbrushed spots with detailed airbrush pawprints and whisker spots, plastic brown eyes. Founded in 1952, Best Made Toys Limited produced various realistic animal plushes w similar patterns, including the dalmatian but also tigers, huskies, lions, horses, German Shepards, and Bermese Mountain Dogs. They all seem to have the same pattern with a foam face, meaning that the animals were likely produced w the same body/pose w unique face molds and tails. Best Made Toys Limited was acquired by the SJ Partners in 2015, an equity firm, that seemingly blew up the company bc now BMTL is nowhere to be seen. They no longer produce stuffed animals and their domain page is for sale. They are no longer listed as partners of SJ. Their page on Amazon only lists a watch-repair kit. Sad. The address on Drowzy's tag is now owned by Stortz Inc, which I thought maybe was Best Toys Limited rebranded, but Stortz was founded in 2004. I found a document about Best, Court File No. Applicant BEST MADE TOYS INT, which was submitted by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, a large accounting firm. The document is not accessible to me for some reason and I bet it has something to do with BMTL's tragic disappearance from Existence.

Drowzy was on Ebay for about a year before I bought her. She was noted as having a large stain on her side, visible in the photo as a light brown. Her sale photos (now lost to time) featured her on a plain table and she looks so sad, dirty, and unloved that I frequently returned to the page to check on her. She was being sold for $60 with $50 shipping which felt like a lot for a damaged dal. But she was literally haunting me. Eventually I was possessed by her soulful sad eyes and I had to rescue her from the shackles of the endless Ebay listing. She arrived in only a few days. Her owner must have washed her before she arrived since the stain is barely noticable. I named her after an altermatian. She's defienetely the largest item in my collection and so she stays in my bed, although I try not to squish her to avoid damaging her. She's fairly study but her neck is prone to warping and her foam skull could possibly be damaged. More research to come on the mysterious Best Made Toys Limited.

Acquired: 1/4/24, Ebay | Price: $110 | Producer: Best Made Toys Limited | Production Date: 2004-2015, unspecificed | Missing Info: exact production date, materials

DT-01-23: Duke

10" plush dalmatian in sitting position with a voicebox that barks "Jingle Bells". 7" Christmas hat and a removable red scarf with green tassles. Velvet nose and plastic brown eyes, black ears and tail. I think it was produced circa 1990s; an Etsy seller listed it as 1990s but I don't rlly have a source. It was produced by Funworld, which produces holiday décor but mostly focuses on halloween and Easter décor. This dog was produced by Easter Unlimited Inc, a division of Funworld. This dog does look old and the inclusion of velvet also gives that impression, since I don't find many modern plushes with velvet noses anymore. But its battery still works. Ofc theres no information on anything. I received him as a gift from Aiden for Christmas 2023.

Acquired: Gift from Aiden | Price: $12-15 | Producer: Toyworld, Easter Unlimited Inc | Production Date: 1990s | Missing Info: Production date, original tag/photo upload

DD-04-23: Dipstick

8" plush Dipstick in a walking position, plastic eyes, nose, red collar with bone-shaped tag with logo and "Dipstick" in yellow. Wagging tail mechanic that no longer works. Could wound someone on impact. I need to factcheck his production, as in the excel I said 1996 but he could be anywhere between 1996 and the early 2000s; I assume that he's from 1996 because that's when a majority of Dipstick merch came from, as 1996 was the year his originating movie was released.

Acquired: 4/30/23 | Price: $12-15, purchased in group for $150 | Producer: Mattel, Disney | Production Date: 1996-? | Missing Info: production date, toy line, how to fix his broken ass

DD-03-23: Dipstick

15" Dipstick plush in laying position. Rough fur, airbrushed spots with signature black ear design, rough velvet nose, embroidered features. Blue color with "Dipstick" in white captial letters. A Mouseketoys product, from somewhere between 1996-2005. Wide range for date: the set of Mouseketoys dalmatians includes Pongo, Perdita, Dipstick, and Lucky (maybe more: haven't seen any others just yet). Dipstick was introduced in the 1996 live action film. I found a listing of Lucky with the original tag that had the Disney Store logo used between 2000-2005. why can't these bitches just have production dates.

Acquired: 4/30/23 | Price: $12-40, purchased $150 in group | Producer: Mouseketoys, Canasas, Disney | Production Date: 1996-2005 | Missing Info: exact production date, any original tags or line mates (Perdita, Pongo, Lucky)

DW-01-23: Donut

11" Webkinz dalmatian with unused Webkinz World code. Plastic eyes, rough nose, black right ear, Webkinz 'W' on hind leg paw. Loose mouth thread. His face is predominantly white aside from three small spots. He is bright white and is currently the newest addition to the webkinz dalmatian line-up. He was an impulse buy because his ebay listing looked so cute. I named him Donut because Aiden gave me a donut the day I got him.

Acquired: 9/27/23 | Price: $13.86 | Producer: Webkinz, Ganz | Production Date: April 2007 - July 2008 | Missing Info: Game avatar, when I eventually upload his code I'll add his photos and room

PH-01-23

Generic stock photo of a dalmatian puppy covered in paint, holding brush in its mouth on a blank card. I stole it from Hallmark, it's a very generic dalmatian and I have seen it on a billboard one time. It's probably on some stock photo site, I bet I can find it.

DD-01-23: Dipper

3" plastic Dipper figure in a running position on top of a bone-shaped base. I couldn't find that much information about this little guy, other then the company that made him makes caketoppers. The paws are attached to the base with little screws, I could potentionally remove him from the base. but i don't want to.

Red, tagless collar, pink tongue panting, pink inner ears, black ears with embroidered 'domino' pattern, embroidered eyes and eyebrows with velvet nose. Literally cannot find any proof of hise xistance aside from the one I own. Looks very similar to a Mattel Rolly plush but likely weren't released together since Domino is a 102 Dalmatians character while Rolly is 101. I spent so much fucking time trying to figure out what product he is and I never found it. But I won't give up.

7.5" plush dalmatian in sitting position with large round head, brown glass eyes, black ears, fabric nose and embroidered mouth. Black ears. Pink gingham bow with soft sparkly white/pink bunny ears. A set of duplicates. I got them at Randals but I picked up one and then decided I preferred the spot pattern of another one, and put the original back.
